PSHE/RSE

Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) and citizenship is an important element in the broad and balanced curriculum.

Through our PSHE curriculum, we provide opportunities to develop children’s knowledge and understanding of their own identity within the school and wider community. This underpins our core values of:

  • Aspiration
  • Perseverance
  • Collaboration
  • Compassion.

Our aim is to provide pupils with a knowledge of their world, locally, nationally and globally and give them confidence to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of today’s society.

We pride ourselves on building healthy relationships between our emotionally available adults and our pupils.

Our staff are passionate about collaborating with children and ensuring that they leave Treverbyn with a sense of care and compassion to be effective citizens of the future.

As a school that follows the Trauma Informed Schools ethos, we believe it is key to support children’s social, emotional, mental and physical well being in order to promote inclusion which is at the heart of Treverbyn Academy’s whole curriculum.

There are too many different activities to list, but here are just a few for example:

  •        Anti-Bullying week
  •        The Children’s Charter
  •        Healthy relationships workshops with Barnardos.
  •        British Heroes Day
  •        RNLI/ Beach Safety
  •        Internet Safety week
  •        Road Safety week
  •        Local visitors
