Mr Freckelton is the Year 6 teacher with support from Miss McIntosh and Miss Hogg. We all work extremely hard to create an energetic, engaging and enjoyable learning environment. We hope that your child will take great pleasure from their time in our class as they experience interesting and exciting lessons. We aim to meet the needs of all individuals and are committed to adapting pace, content and resources in order to support everyone. If you have any questions about anything we do in school, please don't hesitate to see one of us at the door or make an appointment to see Mr Freckelton via the school office.
You can stay up to date with Year 6 by following us on the school twitter account.
The Year 6 classroom door will be open for children to arrive each morning from 8:30am until 8:40am. Please ensure they are dropped off between these times following the one-way system around school and maintaining social distancing whilst on the school premises.
School dinner requests are recorded alongside the attendance register.
On arrival, children are expected to put their belongings away tidily and begin their early morning activity promptly which will be detailed on the whiteboard.
Children can be collected between 2:50pm and 3:00pm from the classroom door, unless written permission has been given to Mr Freckelton for the child to walk home alone. Any child with siblings in other classes can wait to be collected later.
Please see the half termly topic leaflet for more details about each subject area and homework activities.
Homework is set and marked each Friday but can be brought into school throughout the week.

The words should be practised at least four times each week and recorded on the 'Look, Cover, Say, Write, Check' sheet which will be in their pink spelling book. They should also create a sentence for each of their words to support them applying the meaning of the words.
‘Spelling Shed’ is an online platform that pupils can use to help them practise their spellings and earn point-based rewards. There is a weekly spelling test on a Friday.
Maths - Children will be set specific pages in their 'CGP Workbook', which follows on from the work covered in class each week. This will be set on a Friday and marked in class the following Friday.
