Homework Projects

Homework:

Homework is set and marked each
Friday but can be brought into school throughout the week.

Reading - Children are expected to read (usually from an ongoing
reading book) at least four times per week and this should be recorded in their
reading record – the reading record should be brought into school each day.

There is also a weekly reading
comprehension activity set in their 'CGP workbook' – pages will be indicated on
a Friday and marked in class the following Friday.

Spelling - Children are given a weekly spelling word list. The
words should be practised at least four times each week and recorded on the
'Look, Cover, Say, Write, Check' sheet which will be in their pink spelling
book. They should also create a sentence for each of their words to support
them applying the meaning of the words. ‘Spelling Shed’ is an online platform
that pupils can use to help them practise their spellings and earn point-based
rewards. There is a weekly spelling test on a Friday.

Maths - Children will be set specific pages in their 'CGP
Workbook', which follows on from the work covered in class each week. This will
be set on a Friday and marked in class the following Friday. ‘TT Rockstars’ is
an online platform that pupils can use to help them practise their times tables
and earn point-based rewards.

Grammar - Children will be set specific pages in their 'CGP
Workbook', which follows on from the work covered in class each week. This will
be set on a Friday and marked in class the following Friday.

Children need to bring their reading
record, reading books and spelling book to school every day. These will be used
in class and are regularly monitored.
