We hope you are all looking forward to this term and the exciting things we have planned.

The classroom door opens at 8:40 every morning and closes at 8:50 when we register the children. All children are expected to arrive within these times and begin their morning task. The doors open at the end of the day at 3:10 and close at 3:20.

Reading

Your child will be given a set of reading books to bring home to read. It is important that you try to read at least 4 times a week. Please write in their reading records when they have read at home. The children will need to bring their reading books and records in to school each day for further reading and monitoring. This is vital to children’s progress in reading so please support us and your children with this area.

P.E
Please ensure your child has their P.E kit in school every day. It is important that all P.E clothing is labelled. P.E kits will be sent home at the end of every half term. Please also ensure water bottles, packed lunch boxes, coats and school uniform are also labelled.

Immersive Curriculum
Our Spring term topic is based on investigating the question 'Why Is The Weather Important?' This topic will be child led and will involve lots of fun and enjoyable activities to support children in their learning. Please see the curriculum newsletter to see an overview of the children’s learning this term.

Homework
As stated above, reading is a crucial as part of the children’s daily homework. Additionally, the children will now also have weekly spellings, which will be tested on a Friday. There is also a home learning task on the curriculum newsletter.

Juice/milk
Children have the opportunity to buy milk or juice at break times if they wish. The children will need to bring in 50p to do so. Free fruit will be given daily as the children’s snack.

Please keep an eye on the school Twitter page for regular updates and news.

If you have any quick questions, don't hesitate to ask us at the door. However, if you would like a longer conversation, please arrange an appointment at the office.
